The basic premise and the familiar format of the TV show, “Kyle XY,” once more shows that some themes never get old in popular culture. A young boy finds himself naked, in the middle of a forest, with no idea of who he is, his past, even what kind of a world he's in. His unique gifts and a conspicuously missing belly button become the central mystery of “Kyle XY.”
The young boy, played by Matt Dallas (the boy frolicking with Mischa Barton in the video of James Blunt's Goodbye My Lover), is found wandering on the streets and put into a juvenile detention center. When the therapist / social services worker, Nicole Trager (Marguerite MacIntyre) meets with the boy now everyone calls Kyle, she immediately feels a connection, and opens her suburban home to him. The Trager family is your typical blissful suburban nuclear family, with the loving and calm father Stephen (Bruce Thomas), and two teenagers at different stages of their hormonal surges, Lori (April Matson) and Josh (Jean-Luc Bilodeau).
